Learning & Development for Youth Workers | 91´«Ã½

91´«Ã½

Social Pedagogy offers a core set of values that guide practice as well as providing a set of concepts and skills with which to work. This fosters and promotes wellbeing, learning, potential and growth.

We believe that the learning and development our staff engage with has the potential to leave a positive impact on the lives of the young people we work with. Our research shows that many of the young people in our care have experienced adverse and potentially traumatic experiences and as such, our practice is becoming ever more trauma-informed. We do not believe there is a single training course or topic that determines the way in which we support young people but instead we recognise the range of unique circumstances in the lives of young people and therefore the range of learning interventions that support positive practice.

91´«Ã½ have embraced and are embedding a social pedagogical culture which underpins all aspects of practice and acts as a foundation on which we build our skills and knowledge. All of the learning opportunities are strength-based and while they appear on the surface to be courses in their own right, ultimately they blend together to create a holistic suite of training that supports the organisation’s ethos and values.
